Why is blue Godly? Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva, Lord Rama, Goddess Kali, Lord Vishnu etc., all are depicted in color blue.
Has anyone ever wondered why? As far is Lord Shiva is concerned, there exists a mythological elucidation which is arrived at, from the event of ‘Samudra Manthan’. It was a sort of tug-of-war between the Gods and the Demons for the trophy of nectar (the potion for immortality). While churning the ocean, various precious rewards emerged which were, turn by turn , partaken by both the parties. In the process of this churning, the first thing that appeared was an urn full of poison. Since none of those present, except for Lord Shiva, could contain the lethal effect of this potent venom, Lord Shiva drank it fearlessly and survived it too, but the poison turned him blue. Some say He became completely blue, while others point out that only his throat turned blue, but blue it was.
This is as far as mythology goes. Well, alright! But what about the others? There is no other theory pertaining to the blue-violet portrayal of Hindu gods.
Spiritually speaking, colors are of utmost significance for smooth, hurdle free running of our lives. Each color delineates something important. Even the seven energy centers of our body (the chakras) are of seven different colors:
Root Chakra or Muladhara is Red
Sakral Chakra or Svadisthana is Orange
Solar Plexus Chakra or Manipua is Yellow
Heart Chakra or Anahat is Green
Throat Chakra or Visuddha is Blue
Third Eye Chakra or Ajana is Indigo and
Crown Chakra or Sahasra is Violet
In Vedas there has been no mention of any color in reference to the chakras. Our antient scriptures have described the seven chakras on the basis of specific mantras, shapes, lotus, divinities etc.
In the early seventies some spiritual authors found connections between chakras and rainbow colors. Since rainbow represents all the colors in the spectrum that is visible to us and also because colors are energies vibrating at a frequency that makes them detectable to our eyes, a fair and justifiable connection was formed. Each color vibrates at a specific frequency, some of which match with the frequency of our being while others do not. For this very reason astrologers advise us to wear certain colors and avoid some.
In fact, the color therapy used by many for resolving mental and physical ailments are actually based on the colors of these chakras. Each chakra represent an organ or body part. So whichever part of our body is ailing can be aligned properly by use of matching color frequencies.
Hospitals all around the world have blue or green colored curtains and walls, as these are the calming and pain relieving colors.
Even our souls are believed to be of different colors, depending on the level of their maturity. According to Dr. Michael Newton, a counselling psychologist, one of the pioneers of regression therapy and one of the most trusted hypnotherapist of his time, the souls can be divided into the following categories in accordance with their colors. These are:
LEARNING STAGE KINETIC COLOR RANGE
Level I : Beginner White
Level II: Lower Intermediate Off-White
Level III: Intermediate Yellow
Level IV: Upper Intermediate Dark Yellow
Level V: Advanced Light Blue
Level VI: Highly Advanced Dark Bluish
Dr. Michael Newton arrived at the above conclusion by interviewing hundreds of his subjects/patients under hypnosis, who could reach higher realms and report back about the feel, shape, color and environs on those soaring heights of the soul existence.
It is obvious from the above table that the highly advanced souls are bluish in color. According to my understanding, we all are a miniscule part of that humungous and ever radiating and omnipotent energy called God. So when we keep progressing as humans with each incarnation, we automatically advance as souls, which in turn pulls us closer to the ONE and ultimately we merge therein.
The highly advanced souls are the ones who have already achieved the highest realm of soul development and are ready to amalgamate and consolidate into that single coherent whole. So when on earth, they are God incarnates and are here for the evolution and growth of younger soul.
Physically we distinguish them in color. The color exactly matching with the color of their souls. And the color of their souls are blue.
